Wireless Sensor Networking

Recent advances in radio technology have made it possible to embed low-power transceivers in control equipment.  These devices use a fraction of the energy of wireless internet devices and communicate over much shorter distances, making them a perfect match for building energy management. Light fixtures provide an ideal platform for these devices because they are distributed within the building and have a means to power the radios.

The radios form a highly reliable communications mesh that uses AES 128-bit encryption and authentication to ensure that data is extremely secure.  The mesh technology is far more reliable than point-to-point communication because data can be routed many different ways to reach its destination.

The Adura LightPoint System™ (ALPS™) uses industry standard protocols (IEEE 802.15.4 and Zigbee) and all of our devices can be conveniently updated in the field to support additional protocols as they become adopted by the industry.
