Participants in the workshop will learn about how wireless mesh networks work, including information on both hardware and software. Other learning objectives include how wireless lighting control systems are installed and maintained. The workshop will also discuss control strategies for getting the most out of wireless lighting controls – strategies such as smart scheduling, daylight harvesting and occupancy detection. Finally, participants will learn about the energy saving benefits of such a system.
Attend this workshop to hear how Adura customer Jones Lang LaSalle is reaping energy saving benefits from wireless lighitng controls in this historic building.
The West Coast Energy Management Congress (EMC) is the largest energy conference and technology expo held on the U.S. West Coast specifically for business, industrial and institutional energy users. It brings together the top experts in all areas of the field to help you set a clear, optimum path to energy efficiency, facility optimization and sustainability, as well as innovation solutions to improve your ROI.
Leveraging advances in wireless technology, existing buildings have the opportunity to capture up to 70 percent of energy savings with advanced lighting controls. This presentation will highlight challenges to retrofitting existing buildings, specifically parking garages, for energy efficiency, and will examine the energy price drivers and innovations in lighting control technology, which now enable the economical and non-invasive deployment of lighting controls in existing buildings.
Hosted by the ILLUMINATING ENGINEERING SOCIETY - New York City Section (IESNYC, Control This! is a trade show and lecture series dedicated to the challenges facing the industry in lighting controls and energy management technologies.
The pressing need for new energy sources, efficient energy and water management and resource conservation are creating new industries, and providing community colleges with unprecedented opportunities to enrich the communities they serve and to play a role in building a better future for California. The Expo is your chance to discover the latest green innovations.
The California Higher Education Sustainability Conference highlights cutting-edge research, as well as case studies with proven successes in curriculum development, operational programs, and community partnerships. Commercial buildings are one of the greatest consumers of energy, with lighting being the major culprit. There is absolutely no doubt that a more efficient and effective lighting strategy for the built environment would result in lower energy consumption and a reduction of carbon emissions. Some of the newest and most sophisticated lighting solutions are taking commercial lighting to a level of sophistication never before seen. Integration into existing building automation systems, wireless mesh networking for low-cost retrofits, utilization of highly efficient technologies such as LED and new low-voltage powering strategies which exploit power-over-ethernet (POE) capabilities. These new systems take a much more precise approach to lighting than ever before possible. This session will highlight four of the most significant new technologies in advanced digital lighting.
The 13th Annual Realcomm Conference & Expo, happening June 13-15, 2011 at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando, FL, brings together more than 1,200 commercial and corporate real estate professionals each year to explore the latest technology tools and innovations available to our industry.
The U.S. Green Building Council - Northern California Chapter has partnered with leading Architect/Engineer/Contractor firms in Northern California to present GreenerBuilder 2011. Join us as we explore "What's Now, What's Next."
ConnectivityWeek explores how information and communications technology (ICT) can be applied to manage energy and deliver efficiency on the grid and across an array of vertical applications – including major residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure consumption areas. In a unique format dedicated to connecting people and ideas, ConnectivityWeek explores the value propositions, business models, and technologies needed to deliver the efficiency, productivity, and cost benefits of Smart Grid.
Environmentally conscious health care is one of the fastest developing hospital trends. It is estimated that tens of billions of dollars will be spent over the next five years creating a more sustainable and green environment and reducing carbon footprints while enhancing patient care and employee satisfaction. Because high quality healthcare will always be a demand it is important to stay ahead of the competition and find out ways to update your facility and service lines and keep with the most current trends in healthcare and sustainability is it!
The theme of the 2011 Summit is “Green Paths to Economic Recovery,” a topic that will be addressed in a variety of ways – from sessions highlighting the savings attainable through energy and water efficiency to a keynote presentation on green job creation by venture capitalist Elton B. Sherwin, Jr., author of “Addicted to Energy – A Venture Capitalist’s Perspective on How to Save our Economy and Our Climate.” General session attendees will also have a chance to get an update on the Greenwise Sacramento intiative from Mayor Kevin Johnson.
Today, creating jobs in the low-carbon economy is an enormous challenge that requires technological innovation, robust capital markets, and supportive government policies. The panel will address the following questions:
With smart sensor solution providers focused on vertically-specific markets, what is the outlook and challenges in each market? How can player leverage similarity hence success in each market? How can players promote convergence of wireless communication protocol to reduce cost?
Compared with new facilities, existing buildings and plants often have legacy equipment which waste energy, require more maintenance, and incur more downtime. A complete rip-out and replace strategy is cost prohibitive and very disruptive to ongoing operations and occupants.
New non-invasive technologies now allow for retrofits which take minutes to install, and deliver substantial savings with investment payback of less than 18 months. This presentation will cover actual case studies and savings data related to HVAC, Lighting, Steam, and Compressed Air retrofits.
